The Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, KASEDA, has released the document requirements for businesses being processed under its MSME Managed Fund Programme, with financing ranging from ₦1 million to ₦3 million.
The financing is being handled in partnership with Katsina Amana Microfinance Bank.
The new checklist is important because it shows that businesses seeking the facility must be properly registered, tax compliant, free from unresolved loan obligations and able to show how the money will be repaid.
This is not a cash grant.
It is a business loan that requires documentation, credit checks, a business proposal and guarantor information.
How Much Can Businesses Access?
The current document checklist covers facilities from:
₦1 million to ₦3 million
The amount approved for a business is tied to the financing process and the business information submitted.
Applicants should therefore prepare documents that clearly show what the business does, how much it needs and how the loan will be repaid.
Who Is the Loan For?
The programme is for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises connected to KASEDA’s enterprise support system in Katsina State.
KASEDA’s current platform is built around registered businesses and gives MSMEs access to funding opportunities, business development support, training and other enterprise programmes.
The latest fourth batch of the 2026 interest free MSME loan programme contained 359 selected businesses, and KASEDA said businesses not included in that batch would remain under consideration for the fifth batch.
This means the current exercise is already being processed in batches.
Documents Required for the KASEDA Loan
Businesses moving through the loan process should prepare the following.
1. CAC Certificate and Status Report
Your business must have Corporate Affairs Commission registration documents.
The checklist requires:
- CAC certificate
- CAC status report
The information on these documents should match the name and ownership details used in your KASEDA records.
2. KASEDA Certificate
Applicants must provide their KASEDA certificate.
Businesses that already have a KASEDA profile should make sure their records are current.
KASEDA currently provides an online business registration and records platform for enterprises in Katsina State.
3. Tax Payment Evidence and TIN
The checklist requires:
- Evidence of tax payment
- Tax Identification Number certificate
This requirement shows that the loan process is aimed at formally identified businesses rather than anonymous or unregistered operations.
Applicants should make sure the tax documents carry the correct business or taxpayer information.
4. Credit Bureau Report
Applicants must provide a Credit Bureau report showing that they do not have outstanding loan obligations with financial institutions or public loan programmes.
This is one of the most important requirements.
A business with unresolved loan obligations should not assume that simply submitting all other documents will remove the credit issue.
The credit report is used to show the applicant’s current borrowing position.
5. Business Plan or Loan Proposal
Applicants must prepare a viable business plan or loan proposal.
The document should show:
- What the business does
- Where it operates
- What the loan will be used for
- Amount requested
- Current business activity
- Expected income
- Major operating expenses
- How the business will repay the loan
Avoid vague statements such as:
I need the loan to expand my business.
Instead, state exactly what the money will finance.
For example:
- Equipment purchase
- Additional stock
- Raw materials
- Production expansion
- Shop expansion
- Working capital
The central question the proposal should answer is simple:
How will the business use the money and generate enough income to repay it?
6. KTPCACC Integrity Check Form
Applicants must also provide an Integrity Check form from the Katsina State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, KTPCACC.
This requirement forms part of the applicant verification process.
Applicants should use the form issued for the KASEDA loan process and ensure that the information provided matches their other application records.
7. Business Owner’s CV
The business owner must submit a curriculum vitae.
The CV should contain factual information relevant to the applicant and business, including:
- Full name
- Contact information
- Education
- Work history
- Business experience
- Skills
- Current business role
A short, clear CV is sufficient if it accurately presents the owner’s experience.
8. Plastic NIN Card
The applicant must provide the physical National Identification Number card.
The requirement specifically refers to the plastic NIN card.
Applicants should make sure the name and other identity details match the information used in the loan documents.
9. Application Letter on Company Letterhead
Applicants must prepare a formal loan request on the company’s letterhead.
The letter should state:
- Business name
- Amount requested
- Purpose of the loan
- Brief description of the business
- Contact details
Do not write an unnecessarily long letter.
The business plan or loan proposal contains the detailed financial explanation.
10. Four Passport Photographs
Four recent passport photographs are required.
Applicants should prepare them before visiting the bank for documentation.
11. BVN Data Page
The Bank Verification Number data page is also required.
This provides another layer of applicant identity and banking verification.
The BVN details should be consistent with the applicant’s name and banking records.
12. Invoice Documentation
The checklist also requires completed invoice and bank related documentation.
For businesses requesting money to purchase equipment, stock or other business inputs, invoices should reflect the actual items being financed.
For example, a business requesting funding to purchase production equipment should have an invoice showing the equipment, supplier and cost.
13. NAFDAC Approval for Food and Beverage Businesses
Food and beverage businesses are required to provide NAFDAC approval.
This condition applies specifically to businesses operating in regulated food and beverage activities.
A business outside those sectors does not need to treat NAFDAC approval as a general requirement for every KASEDA applicant.
Guarantor Requirements
The loan also requires documentation from guarantors.
Each guarantor should prepare:
- Notarized statement of net worth
- BVN data page
- Plastic NIN card
- Passport photographs
- Curriculum vitae
The statement of net worth is used to declare the guarantor’s financial position.
Applicants should therefore use guarantors who understand the responsibility attached to guaranteeing a business loan.
Where Approved Beneficiaries Should Go
Businesses already selected for the current batches have been directed to:
Katsina Amana Microfinance Bank
Katsina Investment House
KASEDA has specifically directed approved beneficiaries to the microfinance bank for documentation and disbursement processing.
This is an important point.
Approved beneficiaries should not go to the Bank of Industry for this stage of the programme.
The current processing partner is Katsina Amana Microfinance Bank.
Is the KASEDA Loan Interest Free?
Current reporting on the 2026 KASEDA MSME batches describes the facility as an interest free MSME loan programme.
The fourth batch announced in October contained 359 beneficiaries.
The broader Katsina MSME Managed Fund has also been used to provide interest free financing to businesses through partner financial institutions. Katsina State Government reported that hundreds of businesses received interest free loans under the fund through Sterling Bank and the Bank of Industry.

If Your Business Was Already Selected
If your business name appears on a KASEDA approved beneficiary list:
- Gather the required business documents.
- Prepare your guarantor documents.
- Make sure your CAC, NIN, BVN and tax details are consistent.
- Prepare the business plan or loan proposal.
- Obtain the required credit report.
- Complete the KTPCACC integrity documentation.
- Proceed to Katsina Amana Microfinance Bank at Katsina Investment House for processing.
KASEDA has said businesses not included in the fourth batch will remain under consideration for the fifth batch.
Common Problems to Avoid
Outstanding Loans
The checklist specifically requires a Credit Bureau report showing no outstanding loans with financial institutions or public programmes.
Applicants should resolve any genuine outstanding obligations before treating their file as complete.
Different Names Across Documents
Your CAC, NIN, BVN, tax and KASEDA records should identify the same applicant and business correctly.
Weak Loan Proposal
A proposal that fails to explain repayment capacity does not meet the purpose of the document requirement.
Show clearly how the business generates revenue.
Unverifiable Invoices
Use genuine invoices connected to the items the business intends to purchase.
Incomplete Guarantor Documents
Do not prepare only the applicant’s documents and ignore the guarantor requirements.

Businesses should use KASEDA’s official channels for questions about registration, records and funding programmes.
What Applicants Should Do Now
The current KASEDA loan process is documentation heavy.
Businesses interested in the programme should ensure they already have:
- CAC registration
- Updated KASEDA records
- TIN and tax evidence
- Clean credit record
- Business plan
- NIN
- BVN information
- Business invoices
- Qualified guarantors
- NAFDAC approval where applicable
For businesses already selected, the next stage is documentation at Katsina Amana Microfinance Bank.
For businesses that have not yet been selected, keeping KASEDA business records accurate and complete is the practical step while subsequent batches are processed.
