Paused fellows under the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) have received a new update on their placements and possible resumption.
In a response to an enquiry from an affected fellow, the UNDP Nigeria Help Desk said some placement opportunities are still under review.
The Help Desk said affected fellows will be contacted through their registered email addresses once there is a confirmed update.
At the moment, no specific resumption date has been announced.
Why Some NJFP Placements May Take Time
NJFP placements depend on available host organizations and the suitability of each placement.
The programme matches fellows with organizations that can provide relevant work experience, supervision and professional development.
Where a placement needs to be reviewed or changed, the process may take longer before a fellow receives a new placement or resumption notice.
How NJFP Placement Works
Being selected into NJFP does not automatically mean a fellow has started the programme.
Qualified candidates may first enter the NJFP talent pool before they are matched with a host organisation.
A fellowship officially begins after the candidate is matched, onboarded and resumes with the assigned organisation.
This is why placement status can differ among fellows even when they were selected during the same programme cycle.
NJFP 2.0 Is Still Expanding Placements
NJFP 2.0 was launched to expand work experience opportunities for Nigerian graduates.
The programme is working with private and public sector organizations to increase the number of available placements.
In 2026, NJFP also held employer engagement programmes to encourage more organizations to host fellows.
This is relevant to paused fellows because additional host organizations can create new placement opportunities.
What Paused Fellows Should Do while waiting
Affected fellows should:
- Check the email address used for NJFP registration regularly.
- Monitor official NJFP announcements.
- Keep their phone number and other contact details active.
- Contact NJFP support if they need clarification about their placement.
Fellows should not submit a fresh application unless NJFP specifically asks them to do so.
NJFP Support Contact
Paused fellows can contact the programme through its official support channels for placement related questions.
Email: fellows.support@njfp.ng
Applicants should rely on official NJFP and UNDP communication rather than unofficial resumption dates shared on social media.
