New Update on MyBOI Application: BOI Asks Some Applicants to Upload More Documents

BOI returned application

The Bank of Industry has begun returning some applications submitted through its new MyBOI Portal where additional documents, corrections or clarification are required.

Applicants who receive a Returned status should not assume that their BOI financing application has been rejected.

According to the official MyBOI Portal Frequently Asked Questions, a returned application means BOI needs the applicant to correct information, provide clarification or upload additional documents before the review can continue.

What a Returned BOI Application Means

A returned application is different from a declined application.

When BOI returns an application, the applicant can open it again, make the required changes and resubmit it.

Information previously entered into the application remains saved, so applicants do not have to start the entire process again.

BOI may request additional information where documents are incomplete, incorrect or where more information is required to complete its assessment.

Documents BOI May Ask You to Provide

The documents requested will depend on the applicant, business type and financing facility.

Some applicants may be asked to provide documents such as:

  1. Valid means of identification
  2. Corporate Affairs Commission documents
  3. Curriculum Vitae
  4. Bank statements
  5. Business information
  6. Supporting financial documents
  7. Regulatory licences where applicable

BOI states that document requirements differ according to the type of business and facility being requested.

Businesses operating in regulated sectors may also be required to provide relevant licences or approvals.

What to Do If Your BOI Application Is Returned

If your application shows Returned, log in to your MyBOI account and check the comments or notification attached to the application.

Applicants should then:

  1. Open the returned application
  2. Read BOI’s comments carefully
  3. Correct any information identified by the bank
  4. Upload the requested documents
  5. Confirm that the documents are uploaded in the correct section
  6. Review the application again
  7. Resubmit it for further processing

Supporting documents are uploaded through the Documentation section of the facility application.

How to Check Your BOI Application Status

Applicants can monitor their applications through the MyBOI Portal dashboard.

The dashboard provides information on recent activity, application status and notifications.

BOI lists the following possible application statuses:

  1. Submitted
  2. Under Review
  3. Returned
  4. Approved
  5. Declined
  6. Disbursed
  7. Completed

Applicants should regularly check the dashboard because BOI says application updates and key notifications are reflected on the portal.

Does Returned Mean Rejected?

No.

A Returned application means BOI still requires something from the applicant before processing can continue.

A Declined application means the application was not approved.

Applicants with returned applications should therefore focus on addressing the comments provided by BOI and resubmitting the application correctly.

Why BOI May Request Additional Documents

BOI may ask for more documents where information is missing or where additional checks are required.

The bank assesses applications using information about the business, facility request, repayment source, collateral, supporting documents and financial records.

BOI also evaluates creditworthiness and repayment capacity before making a financing decision.

Submitting complete and accurate documents can help prevent unnecessary delays during the review process.

About the MyBOI Portal

The MyBOI Portal is the Bank of Industry’s online platform for applying for and managing BOI financing.

The platform allows customers to submit applications, upload documents, monitor application progress and receive notifications about their financing requests.

The portal officially went live on October 2, 2026.

Applicants should complete their applications through their own MyBOI profile and should not share passwords, login details or One Time Passwords with third parties.
